Why organic?

We feel it is time for everyone to be ORGANIC! Save the world one less pesticide/chemical at a time! Besides, it seems only fair for the countries and workers who live, breathe and drink from the region they harvest.

Does the water make a difference to the taste of tea?

Water does affect the taste of tea. If the water has a lot of metals/minerals that will come across in the taste notes. Always use fresh water that has not been sitting around.

Why do you sell your tea in tins?

We actually just started our online store providing you with a direct way to order from us. However, we have been providing tea in tins in the retail application as well as in a bulk. We carry a message on our tin that encourages you to purchase tea from one of our bulk tea sites to refill your tin.

What are the advantages of loose leaf tea?

It is all about taste and controlling the taste. Generally, loose leaf tea in a strainer, or alone in a pot, will unfurl slowly unleashing flavor. Don't get us wrong. We love tea in bags too. The other advantage is that you get a lot more tea when it is loose.

What are the advantages of bulk tea?

The best advantage is that you are saving on packaging which helps to save on needless use of natural resources, and eliminates waste that might otherwise not be reused or recycled. We hope that if you buy your tea in our tins you will make use of those tins, time and again to store your tea. Take care to protect your tea from light, heat or moisture as that will quickly degrade the quality.

Why are there specific brew times and temperatures?

Through the ages brewing tea has become an art that varies by degrees between cultures. It is generally agreed that the lighter or greener a tea, the shorter the brew time. A lower water temperature helps to not damage the leaves.

The darker, or black teas, generally can take a longer brewing time along with the hotter temperature that comes from a rolling boil. Teaware can affect the temperature as well.
