A traditional favorite of many cultures for centuries, black tea is generally stronger and more robust than white, green and oolong teas. Black teas undergo a longer oxidation process that gives black tea its punch. The countries of origin that make up your traditional breakfast teas and Earl Grey teas include China, India and Sri Lanka. These teas are great straight up. If you wish to mellow the tea with milk or cream then go for a longer brew time. Black teas can take the hotter water and longer brew time—approximately 200°-210° at 3-5 minutes.
DECAF note: To decaf your cup of tea, simply pour away the first brew and resteep the leaves. Decaf is when there is 5% or less caffeine in the brew which is what happens upon the second brew. All of our teas are good for multiple brews by the way!
